Nice bike.  When I was about 12 or 13 yrs old I wanted one of those in a bad way.  The only MC dealer in town sold BMW's and various Italian bikes.  The twin cylinder BMW's were too expensive for a kid to even think about so I used to go in a droll over the 250 single, an R26 I believe. Japanese bikes were not available then so kids wanting small displacement bikes had a choice of various European bikes and the Harley Hummer.  By the time I went to college I had owned one of about everything small including the Hummer but never did get my BMW single.  In college I rode British twins until I graduated and then I finally bought a car.

One of the bikes I learned to ride on was one of these:

which is a 1964 Ducati Monza with a right hand shifter since it was developed to be a board track racer. It wouldn't go faster than about 50 but it was fun doing it.  Cool

Ok the Matchless and the AJS qualify as motorcycle porn XXX

The Ducati singles too , they also had a 450 single

The Royal Enfield also sold as a Indian are just as cool

And let's not forget the BSA Goldstar !

I have been a hard core thumper fan for over 40 years , love them all !

No better feeling than thumping down some back road !

I do like the Matchless and AJS bikes......classy!

They however would seem a bit primitive compared to the modern bikes, and likely to vibrate a whole lot more.

I sure would like to be able to find a Suzuki Tempter and bring it into the US.

Two thoughts:

1. That Matchless G80RR is pure awesomeness.

2. Dave, this is an international forum. We should start a thread about importing the Tempter. How much do they sell for? Are some years more desirable then others? What are crating and shipping fees? How do we license them in our states? OK...I'll do it....

I have found very little about the Tempter......it may have only been available in the Asian markets.  I don't even know what years it was made.
