I'll set the cat among the pigeons;

Each December for the last 4 years I've spent too much time watching what transpires at the UN conferences on climate change, this year in Poland.
My opinion on these confabs; 10,000 + people gather to either negotiate (Govs), or complain(NGOs). For the most part the NGOs are ignored and they are continually pissed as a result.
A few of them (CAN, Grnpiece, Fiends of the Earth etc.) are becoming "climate nazis" screaming they want rainbows and unicorns, and they want them NOW! All of these people operate from emotion, the Govs operate from either greed or logic, depending on the state of their politics.
France tried imposing a carbon tax a month ago and got 4 weekends of riots for their trouble.

These negotiations have been occurring for 24 years, now COP24, and basically nothing has changed.  The northern hemisphere countries promise the moon and deliver nothing, the southern hemisphere countries demand everything and get nothing.
There are 2 or 3 people with something to say, most of the rest nada!
