Hello with vacuum lines
07/31/18 at 12:07:35

Hey,

I just got a used 2001 suzuki savage ls650. When I got out it's been sitting since 2015. Also it was in pieces, I have slowly got everything put back together except a few hoses. Two I have figured are vacuum lines that run underneath the air filter box. The one I have no clue about is on the right side of the engine that comes out of the the cap head engine cover.

Abby help would be greatly appreciated.

Larger hose from head cover (right-side) is the crankcase vent, it goes to the airbox (left side) behind the carb.
Carb has 4 hoses... left side - fuel from the petcock
right side, angled to front - vacuum to back of petcock
2 small matching at the rear of carb - vent hoses, they attach to nothing (open to air) and are looped up into the frame under the tank.

vent tubes...

after you install a Raptor, you'll have zero vacuum lines.  Cool

Cali bikes have a carbon canister under the swingarm... that's where those 2 lines are going.

What is a carbon canister? Do you have a picture of that? I don't see any  other canister on the bike or any location for one.

It sets on a small shelf that is also part of the bracket the muffler is bolted to. It's, under the trans , just forward of the tire, near the swingarm  pivot.(unless  it's been removed)
