Fork stops
03/25/18 at 18:30:38

The bike I recently bought has a big dent in the left side of the tank because when the guy dropped it he broke off one of the fork stops. Besides having a new stop welded on do I have any other options?
I'm open to all suggestions.
Thanks

What actually broke?  One of the two tabs on the aluminum lower triple clamp or the steel tab on the frame (there is only one)?

If it's the lower clamp, should just replace it.  I have a used one listed in the classified section that I can sell you pretty cheap and I'm sure there are a bunch of other listed.  If it's the frame, then you'll need to get one welded on.

It's a tab welded to the frame. Looks like I don't have any choice than to get a new stop welded on.
Thanks

Breaking off the frame tab was really common on the early Honda mini trails.....it is hard to find good fuel tanks that don't have dents from the fork legs.

This is the first time I have heard about it being broken on a Savage.

Don't know how he did it but yep, it's broke off and there's a baseball sized dent in the left side of the tank. Other than that, the only visible damage is a bent left front foot peg, scraped up front fender and headlight trim ring. I can't complain. Got the bike for $650.00 with only 9500 miles on it.
My brother inlaw works at a body shop, so getting the tank repaired won't be an issue.
