Wider Mirrors...no more shoulders
03/25/18 at 16:00:06

Got tired of seeing my shoulders, took a chance on these, Under $25 bucks.  They are threaded correctly for S-40, good compression type fittings like stock.  Only about 1 1/2 inch longer stem and mirror is maybe 1/2 inch wider.  That's all it takes!

I got black ones to go with my shaded windshield, but black or chrome it's money well spent.  Nicer shape than stock square things IMHO.  Plastic mirror case is pretty heavy duty but for the price I would do them once a year instead of windshield wipers.  Grin

Ordered on Monday arrived Thursday Priority box.

Thanks, just ordered a pair. I changed my mirrors for a bigger set, but the stem was even shorter!

Or you could just put the stock mirror stems in a vice and put another 45 degree bend in them ,sending them further outboard , so you can see past your body and bringing them down just a couple of inches over your hands ,leaving an  unobstructed 180 degree view forward over your bars.

And they would still be square and ugly IMHO.

I just kept looking at all the fleabay stuff...rh thread, 10mm, all kinds of goofy descriptions from offshore.

This guy probably buys them cheap too.  My only point in posting was good quality, reasonable, looks good, and THEY WORK, no more shoulders.  A discussion that appears from time to time here.  Smiley

The original mirrors are good quality so you could use the original mirrors with these longer stems!

I'm prolly gonna pull the trigger on these sometime this year.

Srotag,

I received the mirrors this afternoon, and they are now on the S40.   As you said, no more shoulders in the picture! They look good too.

Thanks again.

Thanks for this link Srotag.  Those mirrors look pretty good.  I think I might try a pair.

They're folded in... Thumper's on the back of the motorhome again after a month in Daytona.  Maybe off this weekend...will try. Cool

Very little vibration, and a nice aerodynamic head shape.

It's not so much the mirror size as that the mounting stems are just a bit wider.

You can actually see right behind you at a glance.  I know I hated the stocks,  but after looking with these you will think your previous riding was just plain dangerous!  Yes there really is that much difference with only a few inches of stem length. JMHO... yours may be different.

JLC - could you post a pic of how those mirrors look since Srotag's ride isn't accessible?  Interested in how much they extend the width beyond the ends of the handlebars.  I have the stock Suzi drag bars.

Hard to get a good angle...tried several, but end of mirror might be one inch past end of bars...stock pull backs on a riser.
