Not much of a good guy if he would not help the kids.

Because THAT GUY was there and unwilling, a person willing couldn't be there.
He's old, marking time, waiting to retire. He had a gravy job,
Until it went bad.

Maybe Deputy Peterson was out sick the day they had the training session that mentioned that the perpetrators of these kind of shootings almost always either surrender or commit suicide the instant they are confronted by anyone that has the capacity to shoot back.

Too bad. You'd think a SRO with enough time in law enforcement to retire the day after this happened would would know that. Sad
