Starter clutch shim(s) and gears
02/09/18 at 23:25:46

Need Help! When I pulled the alternator cover off the starter gear fell off along with the shim. The gear has a shoulder on one side which way does that go back on? And does the starter clutch have a shim on the back of it?
That's the way this bottom end came to me. Apparently someone had pulled the gears off?

When I put the cover on and tighten it the starter gears are jammed. Maybe the clutch doesn't need a shim on the back side? Please Help! Embarrassed
