LED Tail Light License Plate Bracket

Found this perfect LED Tail Light License Plate holder with integrated license plate lights that fits under the stock fender for a clean and simple look.

Here is the plate from amazon, its actually a side mount bracket but just toss the side mount and use the plate itself.........https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016Z0LWJQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie...

Essentially just use the stock bracket and cut the lower third piece off and drill holes as need in the middle section to accomodate the new bracket, and put spacers in between the fender and the 3 screw that secure the bracket to the fender to give the appropriate angle so that the led brake light will aim upwards and be somewhat flush with the fender.

That tail light appears to match the shape of the fender really well.

You should get a buddy to follow you in bright sunshine and see how bright the brake light is when the sun is hitting it. So many of the aftermarket LED lights just aren't as bright as the stock lights, and in daylight they are nearly invisible unless you are staring right at them - which is not something that soccer moms and texting teens are likely to do! Your brake light and turn signals need to be really bright if they are going to help keep you safe.

Posts: 134	Re: LED Tail Light License Plate Bracket Reply #2 - 01/08/18 at 20:10:31 Thanks for the tip, I plan on installing a second set of running and brake leds on the sides of the plate bracket or the fenders to increase visibility, although my first impression is that it is very bright but I will have my dad ride behind to verify.

I went with the cat eye. I started with a halogen light. It mounted well, but it always bugged me how far it stuck out. I switched to the LED version. It tucked right under the fender. It's also DOT rated!

The only issue left was the licence plate light. I used some licence plate bolts that had LED lights in them - pretty sure they wouldn't meet spec, but I don't usually ride at night anyway.
