Shinko specs

150/90-15      Heavy Duty      H      80      3.5 in      25.63 in      5.91 in      42 psi      Tubeless

My 150/90 15 Shinko 230 on a 3.5'' rim is 6.3'' wide and stands 4.630'' above the top edge of the rim.
On a stock rim, 2.15'', it will be a little narrower, but the about same height.

Does anyone know if the Shinko will fit in the swing arm and still be able to run the belt setup ?
Personal experience please.
Or if anyone knows of a stock size whitewall please let me know .
Thanks

As long as you stay under 26" you'll be fine.

Yes, huge, and heavy! I ride easy and long rides, get 14 - 16k on this big tire. I would NOT recommend it for a sport, or performance rider. I run BOTH Kaw pulleys and that moves the axle BACK giving me clearance on the swingarm. Under the fender I have swapped out the stock bolts for button heads, and it is still close.
Egore posted he runs a 150/90 15 with stock pulleys and it clears the swingarm.
Mine is geared high for long Interstate cruses, 4th is almost equal to stock 5th. My 5th has the engine at about 3400 rpm at 60mph, stock gearing and tire works out to about 4200.
High gearing and big heavy tires work fine for cruising, BUT, you lose a lot of quickness and the light ''feel'' of the bike.

Here's an image of the tire people say isn't on one of the bikes.

 What measurements do you need?

Is that a Shinko 777 150/90-15 and running the stock rim , belt drive etc. ?
Also, how old is your belt ? I just wonder if it would work with a new belt or if it would hit the front of the swing arm ?

What does it look like from the rear ?

Thank you so much !

 There is no fender.

This bike has had an old belt, and a new one on the same tire.  I will double check the tire.  Its definitely a 150/90-15 but I can't for sure say its a 777, I will have someone look into it.

The tire is a Shinko 777.  It noticeably reduces performance but I got a good deal on them so I figured why not.

A comparison of a stock tire next to the Shinko 777.  I've never had anyone notice the difference in tire size unless they are next to each other.

                             140-80-15        140-90-15       150-90-15
Diameter                  23.82                 24.92             25.63
width                        5.51                   5.51               5.91
sidewall height           4.41                   4.96               5.31
revs/per mile            846.73             809.27            786.9
change in speedo         0                  -2.78             -4.49
These are avg.  sizes. higher priced tires could have deeper tread adding to diameter and sidewall height.
