Jog, when I use to live in SoCal, the Malibu'ers would cry like babies during the El Nino south swell damage it caused to their homes, mud slides, etc.....

Expecting EVERYONE to pick up the tab on these disaster......

AZZHOLES, they'd call the cops on you if you even stopped in front of their house to find the burning roach you dropped in your lap  Grin

Well ya know what, on reflection, and what we now know, maybe it was b'cuz these Hollywooders were raping a young actress......  Shocked

Yes, I get the point that insurance companies took to protect their liability exposure, etc.
Folks will have to pay for extra protection, etc,
The rich can afford it, etc.

I was just telling of how the rich in Malibu wanted everyone to pay.

BTW, the link requires subscription to view in total.

It let me read it.
Once
Now, nope.
The insurance companies don't add to the costs. They only require preapproval for access and authorization to spray.
It's not difficult to understand spending twenty thousand dollars to protect a property that IS gonna burn and is insured for two hundred thousand dollars makes sense.
