Need replacement bottom screw on carburetor
10/30/17 at 20:07:09

Hey Everyone!
Haven’t been on here in a long time. Due to kids and work my bike has been sitting for a while. Now due to car problems I’m trying to get my bike up and running.
While it was sitting I had the battery on a trickle charge so battery is good. I didn’t empty the gas tank, but it was on res. I put in a new spark plug and couldn’t get it firing.
I thought maybe I should drain the carb and try again. Well, I removed the bolt from the bottom of the carb, and drained out some fuel. When I put it back on I must have over tightened it, because it looks like half the threading broke off.
Can anyone tell me if that bolt is something I can get from NAPA or is this a order offline.

Also on a side note (my bike has a weird issue that causes the spark plug to foul out real fast. I would just change the spark plug and it would start right up)

You should be able to pickup a replacement screw there or at a lowes,I 'd take it along so you match the threads and the length. your plug fouling can be a lot of things, too large jets ,float level to high, weak spark ,etc . Are you running rich or burning oil? your bike having sat for a while ,the oil has no doubt drained off the piston rings and cylinder walls ,you should use fogging oil or a bit of motor oil in the cylinder before putting in the sparkplug to build compression and avoid damage until you get it started an have oil pressure.

The drain screw has a tapered end - you need to buy the Suzuki part.

The screw is steel, and the float bowl is aluminum. I would be surprised if the aluminum could strip the threads off the screw......it is more likely the aluminum stripped and filled up the threads of the screw (unless the screw is really soft steel).

Thanks! Here’s a picture of the bolt.
I’m running Shell Rotella T6 oil, and will change the oil after I find this bolt. I’m not sure about the float level.
So is this a special order? Or should I be able to find it st Lowe’s or Napa?

That photo sure would have helped us help you a lot more if you had posted that in the beginning!
