Battery rotation?
10/23/17 at 22:00:54

Has anyone turned their battery 90", so both terminals are accessed from the same side? There appears to be room for it.
Has anyone tried?  It would really be handy! Cool
ps: airbox was removed!

As far as I know the only batteries you can do that with is a lithium ion battery.

Why?  with the cone filter, there appears to be enough room.  I really dislike not being able to remove the battery from one side.  With my former vulcan, I could lift it from the top, super easy. Cool

Not turned on it's side......but with the long dimension lengthwise.

Nobody has done it on this forum and told us about it - yet.

Some of the lithium ion battery maker advertise the battery can be mount in any position. So I would check with the battery maker/dealer !

lacks showing the battery installed, but it's what you're looking for.

Although batteries don't often die prematurely - most deaths come pretty much as a surprise with very little warning.  The AGM and gell batteries seem to be able to die in an instant.

When you are moving your battery to a custom location, it would be a good idea to do it in a way that you can access it with the tools that you carry on the bike, and pick a battery that is pretty common and available at local auto stores, Tractor Supply, Batteries Plus....etc.  A friend just road from Ohio out to Iowa and the battery in his bike died - luckily they found a Batteries Plus and got a new battery without much of a delay....and it was a factory installation that allows easy battery changes.

I have an EarthX Lithium Battery that I bought 4 years ago, and it has been doing great.  If I happen to be away from home and my battery dies - there is likely little chance of me finding a local replacement......I would have to contact EarthX and get one overnight shipped to where I was (hopefully it wouldn't be a weekend or holiday).

When designers begin drawing a bike, little thought must be given to buyer/owner convenience for maintenance. Sad! Cool

Design is what works, screw who works on it.
Replace a timing belt on a Civic.
I'm pretty sure designers are Required to take classes that Teach them to hate mechanics before they are allowed to pick up a pencil.
