Not sure if I'm posting in the right area, but can a carb. from a 2002 be used on a 2013 S40?

Fixed that for you.

All the interfaces are the same.
There might be some jets that are different, but functionally the same.
Don't interchange any of the jets with any other model and you should be fine.

You'd need to verify the jet sizes. Some carbs were factory built a certain way depending on the location. California carbs are jetted leaner than any other state. Certain years were also jetted differently. The jets are all interchangeable. You can use your jets in the "new" carb.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

You should only change the Main and Pilot jets if needed.....don't be mixing any other jets, slides, emulsion tubes, etc.
