Whatever one can say about the Savage it really is an endearing little bugger.
And, as everybody has already pointed out really easy to work on without much technical knowledge.

It is always good to keep a running spare on hand just in case a buddy comes to visit and didn't bring his bike.

I have learned more about this bike by reading this forum than both of the manuals I bought , so much it's hard to remember it all ! So go buy your Savage/S40 and don't hesitate to ask questions !
