Where can I find a LS650 gas tank cap?? (Read 185 times)

I've looked around several places like ePay and parts shops but have not found one. I'd be happy with a keyless generic cap, but a stock key type is OK... need something to plug the hole. Any suggestions on where I can find one?

Unless somebody here has an extra - you are just going to have to buy a new one. The Savage is such a low production bike, that there are very few aftermarket parts available.

The weird part about the fuel cap, is the key matches the ignition. So the fuel cap really needs to stay with the ignition switch and tool box lock if somebody is parting a bike out.

If you buy a new one, you can take the cap apart and fool around with the tumbler pieces and make it work with your existing key - you can even remove all the tumblers so any key (or screwdriver) will open the fuel cap and it stayed in place - he didn't need his ignition key to take the cap off.

The cap is $121 at the dealer.

That was a great find you pointed me to for the set. In my recent ePay searches that did not turn up for some reason. I also need an ignition switch, so this will work out great. You bet - I jumped on that -buy it now- button with lightning speed. Appreciate your help guys....

Are they from the same bike? Text me if you want to sell them. I could use them. 8634401070. This is the bike I miss that I made, trying to get another one going but missing the gas cap. Would love to have a matching set instead of having 2 keys.

Reply #12 - 11/30/18 at 19:34:47 The cap is for a california bike, so it won't fit a 49 state tank. The ig switch has the same keyway, but like I said don't have a key. $20 plus shipping.
