Cheap Battery Monitor
08/17/17 at 11:56:16

I have just installed a cheap LED Battery monitor (eBay) so I can keep an eye on the state of the charging voltage and state of the battery.  My starter control circuit played up - weeks ago resulting in the starter engaging while the bike was running (see old thread - Phantom Starter ) This ended up frying my LiLon battery so wanted to avoid this happening again. The small switch next to the meter is connected to to the control circuit - disconnecting the +ve feed to the circuit once I've started the bike - just in case the circuit fails again - I had a spare that I fitted but 'once bitten twice shy' The meter cost less than £5 and the switch £1!

Nice work Marekbuk. It looks great! At first sight I thought it stayed on all the time ... wasn't so sure about that. The switch is a nice touch.

Great looking heat shield on the exhaust too  Smiley

Nice find, although I'll put it in a different spot... thinking headlight.

Honestly, it's a bit small for a headlight! And I don't think it would throw a very good light pattern Wink Cool

Yes the switch is a 2 pole - wired to switch the +ve feed to the meter and switch the +ve feed to the starter control module.
I would have liked it mounted on the headlight but I have a tiny headlight fitted on the bike

I had to fit x2 Exhaust guards to my S40 to cover the ugly clamps I used

With a strap you can wear it like a watch.
