HELP - 2002 Regulator/Rectifier question
07/20/17 at 06:45:14
I have finished rewiring my bike to hide all cables, controllers and relays underneath the seat. Once finished I noticed that the white plug (3 prong) from the Regulator/Rectifier has only two wires: black and red - this plugs in to another withe 3 prong connector that has 3 wires: red, black and orange.
Where does the orange cable from the wire harness connect to? I'm going crazy trying to figure this out as this orange cable feeds power to all relays, blinkers, lights, etc.
If you have a 2002 bike sold in the US could you please check your rectifier/regulator and the white connector cables?
Thank you!!
Jaime

Found out the 6th wire is on/off for the regulator. When the key is on, it is energized and turns on the regulator IC.
Most of us have the same 5 wire rectifier, even though the wiring diagrams say otherwise. I think they discovered that if the bike is off, the motor doesn't spin, if the motor don't spin, no electricity.

Steve, thank you, that makes sense now that you explain it.
I discovered that had a different wire disconnected and that is why the circuit cycle was not complete, once I reconnected those wires everything works as it should
