Honda CTX700 1000 mile review
06/02/17 at 21:16:44
As promised my 1000 mile review of my Honda ctx700. The ride is so much smoother now that the shocks have broken in slightly I have hit some bumps that on the s40 would have sent my spine through the top of my head and it's still a bump but it's not jarring.power wise I'm very comfortable with passing cars where I wouldn't have attempted before. Cruising at 70 mph is smooth and comfortable I don't get blown around so much by the wind and there is no buzz my mirrors are actually usable above 60mph not to mention the mirrors on this bike are the best I've ever used on a bike. I havent run into a hill on main roads and highways i couldnt go up at 75mph where the s40 struggled to keep me above 65 and I've gone up a hill the s40 couldn't take me over 65 at 85. The handling is superb this thing is a blast in the twisties I can really lean into a corner and the bike rights itself so smoothly when you come up. When I'm not riding it hard I go into the gas station at around 160 miles and usually have over a half gallon left in the tank so I'm over 65mpg on twisty hilly back country roads. It took awhile for the seat to break in but I can go over 2 hours no problem (haven't gone any longer yet but I'd be fine). The braking is smooth and powerful I've locked the rear up and had no problem controlling it. I've installed a usb port and an HID kit. I'm enjoying this bike immensely and plan on keeping it for years to come my next addition will be a set of Shad SH36 saddlebags. I'm very happy with my purchase and for 3999$ I don't think you could find a better bike. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the bike. I will also post higher mileage reviews as time goes on.

Best regards,
At 70 it's right around 4000. 124 is the theoretical top speed ad that would be reached at 6500 rpms in sixth gear. This bike can cruise at 80-85 mph and it wouldn't hurt the engine one bit and it's still smooth at those speeds.

That's operating at around 65% of design max. Last forever.
