symptoms of a faulty head plug

Hello everyone!
As the topic states... what are the symptoms of a faulty head plug? It's located under the rocker cover? My cylinder has some indication of oil leaking from around rocker cover to head, but then slso an indication of oil leaking more from the bottom of the head, where the head meets the jug (head gasket) the bike has 25,000+miles on the clock, so I'm sure it's in need of some TLC!

The plug sits directly above one of the 4 head studs/nuts , kinda hard to see it , look at your manual , locate the plug. Go for a slow ride 20 to 30 minute , going fast just blows the oil everywhere 20/25 mph max. Then recheck the head studs/ nuts.

Posts: 3806 osceola new york Gender:	Re: symptoms of a faulty head plug Reply #3 - 05/22/17 at 15:32:55 the plug sets in the top of the cavity near the exhaust header outlet,from there the oil drips down ,and may look like it's a leak coming from the head gasket,but usually runs across the fins to the left side of the motor,you'll have to clean the area and check ,as the other guys said above.

Yes that is definately on the agenda!! I want to get one of Verslagen1's modified afjusters, and tear it apart when I have the part so minimal down time, and my work areas are not the greatest, so reassembly immediately following disassembly is a must!!!
