Cam chain tensioner question
05/16/17 at 12:14:48

Bought my bike used (2001 Savage) and it has 10k+ miles on it.  I'm pretty sure that the two previous owners didn't do much maintenance beyond oil changes.

I'm seeing that many folks on here mention that it is a good idea to check out the cam chain tensioner.  Can anyone direct me to where/what to snag for this as in parts?

PERFECT!  Thanks for the link (pointing it out to me)

And yes, I'm seriously addicted to this bike. My father-in-law is a serious Harley head but I fell in love with this bike and don't want another.

Other than adding a luggage rack and removing the side bags, I'm keeping her stock cause she's perfect like she is.

Hmmm... I have a few more posts to go before I can email Verslagen.

Do you have your eye on a luggage rack? I can't seem to find one. If you , or anyone could share a link, that would be awesome

The clutch cover is another place to draw the outline for bolts.
A jar of Antisieze belongs on the shelf.

Hello, Verslagen1, do you have any complete "ready to sell" modified assemblies? I would love to buy one, before I tear my clutch cover off.
Pm, or email me please. You snd I have been emailing.
Thank you
Mike

I sell what is typically termed "made to order".
However, the main ingredient is the modified plunger.
If I have those, then turn around time is an hour.
However, I don't have any at the present time.
A batch is currently sitting on my welder table and glare/beg every day.

Hey Versy,

What ever came of the spring in the mount pin area to lessen over tensioning of the chain?  Did it work? Has it been incorporated?

Just curious.
