I wish PA took care of its roads like NJ does. Instead we have moonscape for roads.
One of the local Cincinnati fellows that does a lot of riding said the very same thing.....that the PA roads are not well maintained. I thought that was a little peculiar - as back in the 70's when I lived up in the OH/PA/WV tri- state area .......the PA roads always seemed to have the best roads.

The condition of the country roads varies dramatically by county. I could ride blindfolded and know when I left Gregg and entered Upshur.

Those are some beautiful vistas Pesci. I would love to see them in person. I think I will start a "going to see Pesci" savings account.
Hey guys, let's make this a group thing. If we save $100.00/month in 3 years we would each have $3600.00 which would make for a heck of a good time in Italy. It would be a heck of a nice opportunity for a bunch of us old geezers to meet each other (or see each other again) doing a probably once in a lifetime trip.

If you think my wife would let me go on that trip without her.....your not thinking straight. I would have to rent a bike with a comfortable back seat for her!

I've lived in NY, MI, VA, NC, NJ, DE and PA and have driven all over the country east of the Mississippi with various vehicles - Road quality-wise PA is bottom of the list. DC used to be my most hated but it's gotten better there. PA has many road improvement projects in the works lately so maybe things will get better but the corner of the state I'm in even when they repave a road it falls apart again within 36 months or less without fail because how overcrowded the roads are and the sheer volume of trucking traffic on them.
Delaware has decent roads in the Northern part of the state. I'm thinking of making this ride this weekend

I don't think Thumpy will beat me up too badly on those roads.

Spring/Summer 2020 ?
( May I suggest May-June or late September-early October;
July & August are hot as can be and early Sempember is thunderstorm season! )

I like this idea. $3600 in 3 years. I might be able to do that and reach the goal in time after I pay off a few debts.

When I told my wife about this she actually said "why wait 3 years?" and made some other remark about my age.
Well, I told her $3600.00 is a lot of money and that I'm not that old.
It would be cool if I could just spend $3600.00 in a week whenever I wanted. Anyway, I think anticipation and working to get a group us together is worth taking 3 years for this. Vive la France!!! Oh wait, it's italy. Hmmm... So Pesci, what is the equivalent saying in Italy?
Dang, I wish Sofia Loren were still in her prime. Yeah, she'd probably think, "Dang were these old farts ever in their prime?"
