Hello, I read Serowbot's thread on rejetting the carburetor and to be honest some of it is over my head but I think I got the basic gist of how to rejet my bike, but my question is what size jets to get.  I figured from the reading that I should go richer since I live in NJ at sea level and just purchased a dyna muffler, and was thinking of getting the K&N SU-6595 air filter.  Currently the bike is bone stock and I wanted to get recommendations on what size jets to get for the main and pilot jet as well as the spacer size for after the muffler/air filter upgrades.

The factory jetting changed down through the years to meet EPA  regulations. Knowing the year model would help.

I'm in your location (same round about sea level height) I've tuned 3 Savages so far and I can tell you something,

52.5 pilot and 152.5 main were good for muffler like the dyna with a flat panel filter
55 pilot and 155 main were good with k&n cone filter and muffler like the Jardine but always feels rich

I like the look of the cone filter but it does nothing to the bike as far as hp but the muffler opens it up a bit (seat dyno)

One of my favorite setups was the Jardine open muffler and a panel k&n  filter, i ran 52.5 (stock pilot) and 152.5 main

Half spacer or 2 washers

If you're interested I haveva used MAC exhaust for sale..

The stock plastic spacer is equal to about 4? of the #4 washers. The less washers you use the richer your midrange will be.

Even with the stock setup, you can go up a long hill at full throttle and it'll cut out on you cause the vacuum drops enough not to open the petcock.

So with a more free flowing filter and/or exhaust, it doesn't take much to cause it to cut out on you.

Add in age factors and a leaky vacuum hose and it's a wonder it ever stays open.
