Well that Stinks! 10/21/16 at 02:46:33 I was just riding along,, and a plastic bag, like from the grocery store whipped up and around as a car went by, and then, it changed direction. I thought it would miss me, but Nooooo, it hit me, ohhh yeah,, right in the muffler.. DADgummitt,,, I guess it's getting a bit thinner and crispyer , Sure stinks when I stop...

run the bike to warm up the exhaust. Get a terry cloth rag (the rougher the better) and spray Easy Off oven cleaner on it then place it against the area where the bag stuck and leave it there for a bit. Then, use the rough terry cloth to wipe off the plastic residue.
Be sure not to get the oven cleaner on any painted surface. Sometimes it helps to dampen the rag first.
I've done this several times when my rain pants melted on the header and it works great.

I have a brass brush that goes in the dremel and brass doesn't wreck chrome, so, when I get enough of it, I'll Try that..

But when I use it on the bike, it's outside with lots of air flow so doesn't seem to get to me quite the same. Good luck!

Squirt cleaner on old terry cloth that is folded over a few times. Scrub away. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Hopefully it will work as well for you as it has for me over the years.
