The disciples were nodding off because of a strong-spirit/weak-flesh imbalance.
Can I ask about the disciples' account of this, ie. the Gospels, since they were written many years later, and after all, the authors were clearly asleep?
Jesus was never one to keep a diary.
Hov..... I think you are trying to put a divine intervention into mans normal dialogue. I don't think it will ever fit.
If one is not filled with the holy spirit, it will never make sense.
You can not separate the trinity with any chance of trying to wrap any understanding around God....
And then it is still hard

If one surrenders his will, and accepts Jesus as the son, things will start to click, it like one of those decoder rings

Writing a falsehood, the moment an "event" happens, is still false.
After centuries, if its written again, changes nothing.
You can say that about truth too....
And finally, I won't add anymore after this final observation/opine (I did invite engagement, on another thread, but no one wanted to play)
Any man, ANY man, of flesh, will ALWAYS relay a story to HIS understanding. Its how our minds work.
We can pretend we are above bias, prejudice, intellectually superior, and honest, but that is folly.
One can only grow in wisdom, and knowledge, when he CHALLENGES himself, NOT, when he defends his beliefs.
In other words guys......LAY DOWN YOUR SWORD
