It was the '
ounces' that threw me, (and not the idea of 'sagely advice' from Ray)

The UK hasn't left the EU.
If it's going to happen it will take years.
There is doubt if it will actually happen.
The EU is changing rapidly, for numerous reasons.
The public voted, I believe, for Brexit as a statement of their dissatisfaction towards the Govt generally, and for greater control of our immigration policies. Or at least that was a notable factor.
Not so much a 'divorce from Europe' as a 'wake-up call' to our Govt.
A protest vote, if you like.
Similarly, a lot of Trump voters may be voting that way because they're sick and tired of the 'politicians' getting in, and want to shake up the system.
Both are examples of voting for the wrong reasons, I think.
We, the public, must be careful what we wish for.
As it stands now, prices in the UK haven't changed noticeably (to me) since the Brexit vote.
If I change money, it's generally between GBP and Hungarian Forints.
The exchange rate is the same as it was 4 years ago when I first went there. Ditto the Euro/GBP rate.
C'mon mate, you catch the day fore I do way over here on the left coast.....
You should be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as I yank it out to empty my bladder.....
Ounce, like an increment of pound, re: British sterling

As to the meat in your post/observation....
I agree about your characterization of the disgust MOST folks are experiencing toward the politicians failures, however....
It's sorta like having waking in the morning stiff, totally useless, unless you know how to use this, er, gift

Trump is like waking, only to jerk it, and count it as an accomplishment, delusional I say.
I think a Hillary administration will bring more folks to join the jerk circle, but it will need to get grouped, focused, organized to unseat the tyranny of our aristocrats!
