Tocsic,

The length of the risers could be a bit less but 3" works out fine with the stock controls without any problems, which might be the case if you make them much shorter.

Versy ought to put out a kit ready to go. No chasing around for bolts etc.

Hey Norm, I didn't tell you, but I just sprayed those with WD-40 to prevent corrosion durring shipping.  You should at least wax them.

In El Paso corrosion is not on the cards. Grin

My local Fastenal is the same....the fasteners in stock are all in bags of 50 or more.

If you want smaller quantities they can order them and have them in a couple days - but.....they charge you shipping!  I found it is actually cheaper, faster and more reliable to just go online to Fastenal and order the stuff online, and have it shipped to you.  (The stainless allen screw carb sets I put together all came from Fastenal).

FWIW,
I fitted a pair of 3" risers that Verslagen made for me. 'Temporarily' I used 6" 3/8 x16 bolts, 94 cents nuts and all, from Tractor Supply probably made of regurgitated toffee. Anyway, I haven't got around to fitting metric socket head bolts yet and I don't think I will. The cheapos' seem to be doing everything  one needs. The local store wanted about $5.00 apiece for the metric article! Hex-head wasn't problem with tightening as I expected, they just torqued down normally.-sorry Cheapnewby-  Shocked

Don't be afraid to try Ace Hardware. There is one near my office that stocks a really nice selection of fasteners and metals.
