How do we fix it?
08/12/16 at 12:28:07

The report by the DOJ re: racial police problems is real, make no mistake about it.
My question is not about debating that, but asking how we can make a system that doesn't trap people into a life style,at the hands of another, who uses his "authority" in a manner that provokes, or results in a life of disadvantage......
At a good shot of improving their own lives?
To sue won't help, but drive it even deeper in cover up?

My answer...is make people less dependent on the "system."

Make welfare not so easy to get so people will go get a real job. Make people piss in a cup in order to get ANY government benefit, and if you fail you lose the benefit for a year, and after the 3rd strike you're out forever.

If there are no consequences for being a leach on society while you use government dollars to just do drugs and run around shooting and robbing people, guess what... people won't stop doing it and they will always be a drain on society and be where they are because WE made it easy for them to be there and THEY chose to take us up on it.

Yes, accountability is part of it, but that is after the fact.....
In a perfect scenario, opportunity would provide all they need, and welfare could go back to the way it was meant to be, temporary.

If.....

We really provided trades and schooling to all, I believe this would greatly help
Go to school, get support based on your GPA, performance, like the real world, and I believe a lot of these problems would fade away with opportunity.

If there are no consequences  ...

That, is the WHOLE  POINT !

Today, because of the, ‘Fairy Dust Sprinklers’, and  the, ‘PC  Police’,

Their are,  ‘NO   Consequences’,
Their are two generations now, that, have  NEVER, experienced, ANY, Consequences.
They have, LEARNED, they can do whatever they want, and get away with it!

Slap on the hands, and a, ’stern’,  “Don’t do that again !”

Case in point; (Don’t need no smart azz remarks from the Troll)
Teaching Firearms Safety training.  (12+ year old's),
The first time I ask a question, I get a, ‘UM’.
I Quickly say:  “That is the wrong answer, it is not, ‘um”.
Then call on someone else, sometimes they say, ‘UM’,
and I say:  “We all know that is the wrong, answer”.
Then, I call on the next person, What ever answer they give,
right or wrong, we discuss.

It takes two or three times, that’s all, when I ask a question.
For no, ‘UM’s’ to be spoken.
Whenever I ask a question of the Students, (after the first couple of times),  their are,  NO,  ‘Um’s, Ya know,  well, uh, I tink,  etc.

Other instructors, ‘allow’, a, ‘Um’.
Answers to their question are;
‘Um, well, ya know um, I think it um is, um, keep, um, your finger off, um you know, the um trigger, until um, you fire”.

Such a small thing, but that generation, are very smart to know,
WHEN, they can say, ‘um’, and when they cannot.
So, not hard hard to guess, what they, 'learn',  when it comes to other things.

So, if, NO, consequences, than  NO, Morals.

Do what EVER you Want, However you Can.

(Gee Take a look at, Billery)

A true system would give the capable able bodied jobs...
The unskilled skills...
The incapable assistance.

If the only source of jobs in town shut down... what do you do?
The more desperate a person becomes, the worse he'll do.
So your solution he'll either kill someone or himself.
You have to give them goals they can do.  That maybe 1 day at a time.

"How do we fix it"

The past couple of days in Milwaukee should provide the answer.

Black policeman shoots and kills ARMED black criminal when said criminal refuses to drop his STOLEN gun. Irate, ignorant "protesters" riot, burn a bunch of buildings down, shoot at police, loot, try to drag "crackers" from their cars to "beat they a**" etc. etc.

We don't fix it. White people can't fix it. The folks causing the trouble don't want it fixed. Fu*k 'em.

You are right in the sense white folk can't fix it....
This was what Malcolm X even said.
White guilt and race cards won't fix it, I get that.
I see thugs in Wisconsin causing problems.
They use race as a justifier, as the left (or right)  use hate to promote themselves.
I get all that, but my question is not loaded, it's sincere and genuine, re: fixing a society that by policy promoted this outcome...

Hey, we could just let it all burn down....
Same sort of reasoning that Trump will ruin our nation, but electing Hillary, won't, when they are both vile and evil people.

I live in an island, I don't care if you guys burn  Grin

"let" hasn't got anything to do with it. Too much fuel has already been spilled.

Likewise my answer. There is no solution. That ship has sailed.

Sir, I will respectfully disagree with you.
As a person who can testify that I was once one of those who only took.
Yes, it takes a conscious effort in my part to change, but nevertheless, I faced my doubts and fears the purveyors supplied.

I am nothing special, other that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Life was a tornado, but that doesn't mean I need spin out of control too.
Each one of these folks bent of destruction are the same as I, and not beyond hope.
The ship might have sailed, but it is still afloat....
The greater number is that of law abiding and decent souls.
That is where I'll cast my focus mate!  Wink

Well, that's where we disagree. You wanted to change and did something about it. But you are just one person. I think you are projecting your own success onto a lot of folks who aren't really interested in making anything better, for themselves or anyone else. They feel frustrated, disenfranchised, wronged by all sorts of external forces which they have no control over. They don't know what to do about it, but every now and then burning stuff down seems like a good idea to them. We can argue forever about who or what is to blame for that, and how to change this or that in order to try to remediate some grievance or another but we are past the point where any of that is going to make any difference.

Pretty soon I'm afraid that those "law abiding decent souls" you refer to, are going to decide that they have had enough, and they are no longer going to subscribe to the authorities advice on how to deal with criminals. You know " give them what they want and hope they don't hurt you. " When that happens, and it will, any chance of racial harmony in this country is going to get tossed right out the window for a pretty long while. Possibly forever.

Can we go backwards......
By this, I mean to a time when it was the norm to discriminate based on race.
The Black man was not fully represented equally in our society based on one factor, his color.
The Black man was most likely married to one woman, worked very hard, often multiple jobs, to provide for his family with the hope his children would get educated, etc, and have a better life.
Was it merely he had excepted his lot in life, and made the commitment to his family to overcome these hardships, as he inherently knew this was his only viable avenue to prosperity?

What changed?

Was it white guilt, trying to make it fair, that removed the Black man from his stewardship, of his family?

Why, when things were really bad, the Black man rose above the anger that leads to ones own self destruction?

What really changed?

Was it his reliance on God?

New question -- how do we fix it if these morons don't want it fixed? Seems like 1 step forward and 2 steps back. BTW, which black life mattered in this scenario?  Huh
