Decompressor cable

It's loose and has no tension. What's it's connected to? I couldn't see any lever I pulled made it move

Yep, it opens the exhaust valves to allow the engine to spin faster while cranking.

Mind blown. So I have no reason to attempt to play with it or tighten it?

Not really. There's an electrical doohicky under the tank that does the work for you.

No reason at all. It dumps all the pressure out of the cylinder momentarily to help the starter.

You guys are effing awesome. Thank you! Hey while I've got you here what's the best none mod way to bolt up new exhaust to the 08? Mines currently straight pipe cuz the old muffler I pulled off was like connecting a fire hose to a tooth pick with a tin can and 7 c clamps

I have not found any exhaust systems that are a bolt up straight from the head without cutting grinding something down. I just want one purchase and 1 HR on the bike and be done.

Haha, nice description Smiley. HD Dyna muffler. Everyone loves them. If you mean the whole system from head to tailpipe, you don't have many options. The stock header or a custom made one.

Year model,
How's the header pipe look?
If it's okay, a Dyna muffler will go Right on,

AS LONG AS
You get one with the rail mount
Don't get one with crossover tubes
Don't getva catalytic converter.

Usually available from New bike take offs for around twenty bucks.

You should have a pipe from the head down to the start of the swingArm, or generally,, bout there.

If you have it, but the bolts are stuck, STOP, don't get horsey with it.

Just make sure to not crank them down super tight. They should be snug, not tight. If you break one of the bolts... Shocked
