Which raises the question:  why is there no 'street' thumper, non-cruiser, for us 'old farts'?
I have to make my own, half-assed as it is!
There is a market, world-wide, if someone had any guts, or imagination!  Cool

There are a few if you look around. Mostly ADV type bikes. Guess not enough people really want a road thumper or there'd be more to choose from. Honda is helping with the little cbr single. Check out the SWM (speedy working motors ) range. Some cool retros. Enfield has always been around but almost universally dismissed as a novelty bike.

It's tough for us thumpusiasts. Not much out there! Very few in the 400 & up class. A few in the 250cc class.
None with the reputation of our beloved Savage

Not exactly sure; although, I have a 30 inch in-seem and the weight is on the balls of my feet and I'm guessing my heels are an inch off the ground.  Actually, I just turned 20K on it today.   Cool

pg: ever been tempted by a v-strom 650?
I could be, if the footpegs were a bit forward. darn old knees!
My ideal bike would have a suz v-twin, Bonny or Manx frame, forward footpegs, monoshock, tracker bars, weight under 420 lbs wet!!!! Cool

I've looked at the v-Strom and been tempted. They look like a fine machine.

Since we have drifted from the Thumper theme to a twin....the SV650 is a great bargain on the used market, and a very capable bike.

sorry if I hi-jacked the thread! Ever notice that modern bikes have no under-frame? Where could I attach the footpegs?, otherwise the SV650 would be ideal! Cool
