Let me clarify. If you are aiming for 1200 RPMs then you are trying to set it too high. If you end up at 1200 then don't worry about it. I have no idea what my idle speed is as far as numbers go. I set it by ear. Suzuki recommends 1100 which is close enough to your 1200 spec. If it sounds too low then it probably is. You don't want a lopey Harley idle speed. It will kill the bearings.

sauvage ,Yea Idid say 10 mph Idon't know if that's correct but I tend to error on the high side. how well is the stock speedo reading going that slow? It can read 60 when your only doing 55 and that"s in  the middle where it should be most accurate .

@Batman, yep, if you used the speedo, then that would explain it. That's why I used my hand held gps. If you use a gps which is dead accurate then 6.8mph is 1200rpm. And that is likely the speed if you go by the speedo.

I checked the Savage when I got it and it's not too bad you are going a little slower maybe 55kph when speedo says 60kps, compare that to the gs500, which is out by about 12% rising to 15% in the higher ranges, which is a PITA. 70kph is 63, 80 is 70, 90 is 80 100 is 90, 112 is 100 and 125 is 110, it is most annoying.
