I'm trying... to wrap my head around what it would be like to ride this... Huh

How much arm strength is needed to keep that front wheel pointed forward?...
How "iron" must my butt be?... Huh

...and,.. a little part of me wants to find out... Undecided

hard to say, the head angle is severe, but the trail may make up for it.
I've heard some say these customs were easy to turn.

Waaaaay back in the 70's, I rode a Triumph chopper with a front end like that (maybe not so long), and it was a conventional fork with just two tubes.....and it had a drum front brake.

The first time I went to slow down, I grabbed a handful of front brake as I always do....and that is when the bucking started.  The braking force would put a bend in the fork tubes, and then the front wheel would do a little bounce up in the air....and the front wheel would jump forward and the forks would straighten out, and then when the wheel hit the ground again the process would repeat.  In about 5 oscillations I figured out what was happening and stopped using the front brake.  I don't remember it riding weird in a straight line - but it was a bit strange watching that front tire being tipped over and making a big wide arc while the back tire just kind of pivoted. Shocked

My first street legal bike was a 1972 F6 Kawasaki 125 Enduro.

My second street legal bike was a 1976 Suzuki RE-5 with a Rotary (Wankel) engine.

Dave,

How did the Wankel engine work out in a motorcycle frame?

I had a new RX7 in 1989 and it was a really good smooth running automobile.

My first bike was a 1975 Yamaha RD200.  2-stroke, twin.  Amazing power band.
This isn't mine but it's identical:

Next was a 1977 Yamah XS 400 that I cafe'd with drop bars, a quarter fairing and exhaust tips.  Need to find some pics of that one as it was pre-digital.  I got hit on it and it was totaled.
Here's how it looked stock (again, not mine but identical).

The Wankel was pretty cool.  It had a funky lope that sounded really cool at idle, at speed it sounded like it was a 125cc engine at high rpm.  It was very torquey, and very smooth - but if you were riding along and just chopped the throttle quickly...the compression braking/engine friction could slide the back tire if the pavement was smooth (tar joints, paint stripes, wet pavement).

I wish I still had it.....I sold it when I went to college.  I had a black Windjammer SS fairing on it.....it looked great!
