Last comment said it best.  All of the Scandinavian countries don't have to deal with what we have - a permanent underclass that defies all attempts to remedy their poverty, crime, and split families.
Look also at Switzerland, which is really the happiest country in Europe.  Same thing - except for the 20% that speak French instead of the majority language, German, a very homogeneous country with no racial tensions nor strife.
When we we a great nation?  I say between the end of the Civil War, thru the 1950s, perhaps into the 60s.  A century during which more wealth was created, more industry was created, more jobs were created, more advancements in medicine were created than any previous century in the history on mankind, and we saved Europe TWICE from destruction.  What more could you want?

Precisely why socialism won't work in the US.  What % of the US do you think would fall into that category.

Can I shoot for two?

And Bot wants us to emulate that....
So much so he would consider moving there.

DANG, maybe he very well could, ya know....
Help them to build a wall to keep all those folks like him wanting to sponge off of them, out.

Golly, I think I heard some dude on FOX mutter the same stuff while he is running for president.

Great thing about a liberal mind is you can just think it, then feel good, but never have to pencil it out to see if it really is doable.

I belong to a motorcycle club in Australia. One of our members was hounded out of the club yesterday for expressing the very same concerns regarding Australia as you guys are doing here. This, in my opinion, is why the battle is already lost in Australia. If people don't toe the left wing line in Australia they are now marginalised by the herd! They can also be sued under a piece of legislation called 18C and lose everything they own if they are accused of being perceived of vilification. Very few here are willing to take the risk and simply mouth the PC platitudes that are the flavour of the day. At least you still have freedom of speech in the USA - please don't allow that to be taken from you as it has from us!

Well, for one thing, they more or less agree with Trump when it comes to immigration, particularly Muslim immigration, now that they are waking up to the problems that an open border policy can cause.

A liberal is like a evangelical Christian standing outside a porn convention, waving signs and telling the adult entertainment industry partispants that they are headed for hell if they don't repent.....

While one of the guys waving his sign, whispers to his buddy sign waver, " Man, look at the jugs on that one, would love to go motor-boating with her!"

True story, just as I was typing this.
My wife just told me Mary, who she works with, a big liberal, hates believers, NRA, FOX, etc....
Just shared with her that she and and husband are going to go looking for a place to retire in Mexico.
She said you can get a maid for 20 dollars a day and stay drunk way cheaper than here.

Oh the irony......  Grin

Great is the enemy of good.

Your thinking is why liberals suck so much. You sound like Hopey-change on one of his world apology tours. Better yet, you sound just like Michelle Obama.

When was America great? When it gave opportunities to millions who crossed an ocean for a better chance. When it told the British we'll govern ourselves thank you.  When it wrote a document that was practically unheard of at the time; that Kings and Queens were no more, when we saved Europe (twice) from destruction, when the freedom of our culture allowed the genius of people to prosper and the ideas developed brought medical advances, science advances, economic advances and greater prosperity across the globe. And on and on and on and on...........

But, I started this with great is the enemy of good. And liberals like you will instead point to all the flaws that come along from being a nation of 300 million. Fine, go ahead. I have flaws, but my wife still stands by me. My wife has flaws (far fewer than me which I'm sure you would agree to that...) but I stand by her. My children screw up now and then, but I would still knock the $hit out of someone who attacked them.

I have no understanding of why a man such as yourself who enjoys a standard of living unknown to over half the world, if not an even greater number, can't acknowledge the greatness of your nation and wish to spread it across the world. Instead, for some inexplicable reason, you want to drag us and the rest of the world down.

Why do liberals in general find the need to celebrate our few failures as opposed to the overwhelming amount of success?

Reposting this because all of you are missing a key point: America has always been great. We allowed the God-given genius of people to shine through because our system allowed men and woman to reach upwards as far as they could.
