My job requires boots with safety toe and they also pay for them. I prefer Redwing not sure what model they are , had to try on 7 different boots before finding the right boot. No steel shank in the sole and a composite safety toe which reduces the weight. As for foot odor and funk on the feet is no more. Listen up you have to get a boot drier , every night my boots go on the drier and every morning my boots are dry and warm , very nice at 3am ! No smell no funk ! Then the toe gets a double coating of shoe goo to keep from wearing out the toe of the boot and a good pair of socks ! If your feet aren't happy it makes for a long painful day.

Thanks all, great replies.....

I had a very good day with my Redwing Irishsetters yesterday....
Even kept them on after I got home.
I did put a pair of orthodontics in them, removed their insoles first.
This was the longest wearing to date (hours foot in boot).

One thing I do is rotate my footwear.
It seems to alleviate those "rub" spots that often turn to callouses and cause additional problems.

Just gotta get another year and and half outta these feet then I can retire to barefooting on my boat  Grin

BTW, I got a pair of Georgia Ropers, love them, been my longest running boot thus far. Ride in the rain with them too, just pull my slicks over the top, dry as hell ( not that I have any experience there ) .

running shoes really aren't that good if you're on your feet all day, the cushion loses support over time. Boots seem to work much better, except in my case, the heels present a problem
I'm on my feet on tile over concrete all day, and my go to is Converse All Stars
yep, your feet get tired, and there is no arch support, but they don't collapse and leave you feeling unstable
I lift in these shoes, too, at present
I do have a pair of Bates Boots I wear to work sometimes, but I have this weird thing with my feet where if I wear shoes that aren't flat, my feet start tightening up after a few days and I wind up with foot pain that leaves me hobbling like I'm 80 years old, so I were the Converse most of the time and switch to the boots now and then for a bit of a break

I ain't Raydawg but I'm pretty sure he means rotate through several pairs. I was told a very long time ago that it takes about 2 days for footwear to dry after wearing so you need at least 2 pairs of shoes so they can dry between wearings. I solve it by purchasing 2 pairs that match.
