i just know it fixed the issue. I feel very confused with the tensioners though. can they be tightened unevenly? If so what does that do?

Don't follow the marks on the tensioners. You have to measure from a fixed point to the centerline of the axle. The adjusters are usually off. If you don't tighten them evenly then the wheel will sit crooked in the swingarm. Basically, you'll drag the tire sideways.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Belt had just been adjusted using the factory tool!

Throw that thing away. It will overtighten the belt.

okay Bot ...

...only noticeable in middle of a gear or when keeping at a certain speed. Its almost like im letting off the gas a little, then it comes back a second later...

an overtightened belt caused a power loss when under throttle? WTF???  Shocked

Friction is friction. Tight equals more.
