Chain conversions - Primary as Final Drive ???

Watching some car show tv thing and spotted a guy building a custom HD hardtail, and he installed what looked like a primary as a final drive chain.

It was a WIDE monster chain and sprocket set ... looked cool  Cool

anyone ever run a primary as a final drive?

I'm not understanding what the purpose of this is. Are you wanting a different ratio or just "the look"?

the builder didn't change the ratios in the conversion, just the WIDTH of the sprockets and chain ...

looked like he took an HD primary chain and modded it for final drive instead ...

A double strand chain has got to weigh a ton!

My 2 cents worth. This double row chain reminds me of my old Datsun 510 timing chain. That monstrous 1600cc Overhead Cam Engine rated at 96 HP and 100 ft lbs of torque @5600rpm! WOW!! Shocked

I had a 1987 Nissan p/u with about the same power ratings but 800cc larger!
