need HELP - riding goggles?
04/05/16 at 14:41:34
Im looking for motorcycle goggles that are old school aviator style, not MX style (I have dozens in the garage).
Any good ones that fit open face helmets?
addendum -
Id go with Nannini, but NOT paying $140+ for chinese plastic

Halcyon. Hand stitched leather from the UK. I love em. Not cheap but totally worth it.

I use a set of EMGO "Road hawk" with my open face. Not expensive, work quite well.

I had a pair of Emgo Bandito Goggles, but they vanished.
Will check Halcyon sets, as I can't find a US dist for Davida. The dist they have listed closest to me does NOT carry them.

Rat,
I have Smith Goggles that I use on occasion.

I think they work quite well, but I don't know if you would like the "look".

UPDATE -
EMGO Roadhawks are HORRIBLE
Pros - they "look" cool
Cons -
1. the "glass" is NOT optically sound. Horrible wavy, distorted images. Only certain angles are clear, visually.
2. the nose padding/cushion (which is all one piece BTW) does not conform to your nose, it MASHES the S#!t outta your nose and then you can't breathe into/ouuta it ...
3. they FOG, like insanely fog up.
4. the strap doesn't have any rubberized area to keep the strap from slipping on your helmet. So, they move around at speed.

I bought a pair of those for about $ 24 at Iron Pony....I wanted them to complete the look of the old "Pudding Bowl" helmet I had. I have only put them on for a few minutes....and like you stated they fogged up in about 30 seconds.
If you want the correct goggles........the Halycon goggles are the standard by which all other are judged. I have never owned a pair and cannot tell you they work any better than the EMGO - but there has to be some reason they have been making them for so long. Vintage bikers, flyers and car nuts use them. They come in several different styles and colors.

Well, live and learn. Cheap stuff is rarely as good as the good things. Seriously, check out the Halcyon range. They won't disappoint you. Only difference between my 25 year old ones and my new ones is the old pair have laminated glass, the new ones are polycarbonate.
What do you have against Nannini? They're beautiful goggles, made in Italy.
If you want something cool and strange, look for some ex military stuff: Russian tanker goggles look great. So do Korean war era MIG15 chinese pilots ones.

I have a EMGO road hawk with the
split lens
. Excellent optics. You DO need to work with the band to keep them from slipping, but once you find the "sweet spot" they stay in place.
