Savage famous backfire issue! (Read 110 times)

I see a lot of people who seem to like it? XD Truth be told, it annoys me and I hate how it turns heads in a parking lot. I hear it's easy to fix. What's the best home remedy that I could fix it myself with?

Do you pull off the highway and immediately shut the bike off?

All that bang is,.. is the final cycle of fuel blowing in the pipe, after the spark plug was shut off. Poof!...

Stop the bike in gear and let the clutch out slowly. The RPMs will wind down slow enough to burn off the excess fuel and not pop.

I have an aftermarket jardine slip on as a muffler. Not sure about the others. I've been tuning and messing around with my idle for a while now tyring to see if it would fix it.

Jardine is an open muff, you're not going to get rid of it w/out making the idle extremely rich.
And even then it'll still pop.
The problem is hot muff waiting for the right fuel mixture to ignite.
Too rich mixture will allow the muff to cool off before it lights off.
Too lean and it stays hot and just waits for the last gasp to come down the pipe.
