Road find...
03/26/16 at 16:35:58

Found this in road,.. (my buddy nearly ran it over)...
It had been run over a few times, but a little sanding and it looks okay.
4" blade...
It fits right in there like it was made to be there.  No wiggle, and it can only be pulled up and out.  I added a hard drive magnet to the side of the tool cover to make it really stick in place.

So,.. how long will it stay there before it falls out, or gets stolen?... Undecided

Do you think it fell off another Savage?...  Huh

Bot,

you lucky S.O.M.B.  Wink ... got blessed with that one. I've had great blessings when in Glamis (Algodones Dunes). Folks lose all kinds of stuff in the sand.

-for those who don't know; Google search "GLAMIS"

or wikipedia

Someone is Really unhappy about losing that.
Or, maybe, wiped the blood and prints off and tossed it.

What's the story with the coppery-gold stripe around the base of your cylinder/barrel and cases?
Cool

I bought some 1/4" copper tape to add an accent to the black rubber stripe I have on the tank and fender....  I'm hoping it will mellow a bit with age and patina...
(only 6 bucks....it's a 30yrd roll of tape,... so there's um,... a little extra)... Roll Eyes
I just put some around the base of the cylinder to make people wonder...WTF?... (they always assume it's something more than it is)...
...(people think my water thermos is nitro injection)...  Grin...

Gotta' keep 'em guessin'....
Folks will probably assume that knife handle is the nitro trigger,...
...who am I to mess with that theory?...
It's all in fun...Grin

I've been meaning to do a post on some of the cheap and dirty tricks I've done on my bike,... but I feel like I'll need to wash it first.
... and that hasn't happened for a year or two.

I really like my bike, and it get's loads of attention,... but no mods were expensive.  Most are scrap bits and pieces, and nothing cost more than $30, most for much less... except for the chrome tank (which cost an unknowable amount)...
It's pretty from 30ft away,.. but no glamour goddess.  Up close, it's rode hard, and put away wet...
Any mod you see on it can be done for dirt cheap... and without much skill or tools...   ...or brains...

Part of the fun of a Savage is it ain't precious,... you don't have to make everything perfect...
It's the perfect bike for some tomfoolery customization... Huh

Hacksaws n' hand grenades... Cool

Nice find, pretty knife and it looks good tucked in next to the tool box. I've picked up two road kill knives, one must of been from an electrican, it had a big chunk blown out of the edge from cutting a hot wire. It's in my tackle box as a bait cutter. The other one was a big Case two blade folder which ended up in my collection.

Very nice find. Bike looks good too. The bikes are  fun precisely because they are cheap to buy and cheap to operate.

To hijack the thread and take it back to road find . . . I ran across (get it, see what I did there) this one recently.  Sometimes I find some really good stuff on the road. found a craftsman drill once, found a 3 gallon water cooler that still had ice in it. found a wheeled cooler just full of drinks and snack. And, yes, I'll stop traffic to retrieve my treasure.
