ryca rr-1 header and shorty muffler
03/21/16 at 12:30:17

just wondering if any of you have run it or are running it? how you like it? i love the look but am sceptical on how hot it gets on the leg. obviously it would be heat wrapped but it still makes me a bit nervous being that close to the leg. any input is greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Questions about your Savage go in this Rubber Side Down section, the Technical Section is reserved for proven "How To" topics.

The RYCA shorty is an "EMGO".......if you are talking about the shorty megaphone.  They are obnoxiously loud, and your neighbors will learn to hate you.  They can be modified to sound a bit better by adding some interior baffles to turn it into a muffler - currently it is a glass pack with very little "glass packed" in the muffler.

The real

swap is the Dyna. Looks great, sounds good, weighs a lot less,
Cheap, available and does a good job.
STILL sounds autobiographical..

Yep....those are really loud.

The change that RYCA makes is to add a "crumb cub" from a sink strainer at the outlet of the muffler.  It helps - but it doesn't help enough.

One of the members modified his to have an extra baffle plate inside...his change is in the Bike Build Section, for a Cafe bike.....but I can't remember which one.

This video replicates the sound....but not the painful volume.

My Supertrapp came with a warning to Clean Thoroughly, else the manufacturing lubricants would blue it and their warranty for not bluing would be void.

I just cut the stock header on the second bend where it turns parallel to the ground and welded a 45 degree turn out.  Really brings out the sound and blows blue flames out.  Its really a thing of beauty!

Here is my Leftside wrap around with a biltwell cannon. Love the sound and is well out of the way.

I love that bike copterdoc but every time I see it on the side stand I cringe
thought about lengthening the stand any?
probably it looks more leaned over than it really is

Lean doesn't bother me it's solid. Really never thought about it till you brought it up.......
Thanks for that.

As for the seat. Part of the RYCA kit. It's one of the early ones, about 5 years old now, but I don't think they changed.
