We already had the discussion about exports and weapons Being a large percentage Of those exports. Weapons aren't often needed in times of peace. The unwillingness or inability for people to see what our involvement has done in Afghanistan, the poppy production is at or near record levels, but when we invaded, the Taliban had those fields raising other crops.
The MEDIA told us how evil they were and Manufactured Consent of the People to invade and Save those poor people from the horrors of life under their rule.

Just as they told us how much we were going to improve the lives of the Libyan people. Then we bombed the infrastructure that made their lives livable. And, we didn't even have a publicly known Reason to Be involved in Libya until YEARS after General Wesley Clark showed us a list of countries that We would be getting militarily involved with. The word

comes to mind.

I've read 80% of the world's heroin comes from there. There is a reason the Russians and the British occupied that area.

I'm sure the the oil plays a role in our presence.

As for your turning your nose up at Zero Hedge, I got turned onto the site by a buddy who has a house in Katy, Texas and a house , on stilts, in Galveston, a catamaran with twin outboard motors, buys stocks in quantities that would make your head spin. He knows about the stuff I say. Everyone is free to believe as they choose, but at some point, observed reality Should start to create questions.

This behavior is common. The more undeniable the challenge to someones closely held beliefs the more shrill they get in defense of them. It took me a year or more to get my wife to accept that her concept of reality had been a lifelong acceptance of propaganda.

Ignore the fact that a very wealthy and intelligent man reads Zero Hedge almost daily.
