Progressive Shocks

I am interested in upgrading my rear suspension with progressive shocks.  I think these will work just fine; although, I thought it would be good to check with you.  These are for the intruder/blvds50, heavy duty, 12".

How much do you weigh?  How often do you ride a passenger, or load up with a lot of luggage?

I understand your questions.  I have a progressive shock on my KLR and it is pretty stout.  My concerns were more fitment oriented.  I weigh 200 lbs and I'm looking at the heavy duty ones because I'm going to have on luggage.  I have the intruder shocks and they work out well if it is just me with no luggage or any extra weight of any kind.

I wanted to be sure you were considering the loading on the bike.  I bought the standard rate springs, and they are too strong for my Cafe' bike with just me in the seat.....I just bought the next lighter spring set, and will give it a try when the snow and salted roads go away!

pg: How much luggage weight do you think you'll be carrying ?   I know that I tend to travel fairly light. Just a couple changes of clothing and spare footwear, rain gear, and very basic camping gear and I'm good for a week on the road. Smiley

I guess it depends on the trip; but, I would like to be able to do a multi day  (5-7).  I tend to over pack as well.  As I mentioned the intruder shocks are a bit to soft when loaded up so I think this the next best alternative.

Have those on my 2003 custom. Set on level 5. Have worn out the other four settings. No idea where Pine got the shocks or how long they were on it under his ownership. I bought it from him in spring 2014 with 7500 miles on it. Had to swap the tensioner from my 98 into the 03, and it is maxed out on the second hole already.

Our local roads eat tires and shocks, so, you should see much better service out of them. I got 4 months out of lifetime warranty polyurethane bushings in one of the trucks... Angry

As long as you'all are talking about shocks I got a question; how long are the stock shocks on a Savage?

Thanks
