Bees everywhere
10/04/15 at 15:27:05

It is Sunday afternoon/early evening and I am outside working on one of the cars, cause we are down to one car. I have about 10 to 15 minutes of work left but bees are buzzing by everywhere. I ignore them until I get stung twice. I see that the bees are coming from my left side, so I cross the street to put some distance between the bees and myself and see that my next door neighbor has a bee infestation and has some guy out there with a bee suit, a large container and a garage vacuum trying to suck up the bees from under the siding.

Well it was not safe across the street either so I make a beeline (pun intended) to my front door and figure I'll watch some football for a while. And what the heck, might as well have a bowl of ice cream also.

It sucks though that it will probably be dark outside before it is safe again and I can finish my work on the car. Angry

Well, I guess I went out there too soon. I thought the coast was clear but I got stung a third time. Oh well, I finished the work on the car. And the beekeeper gave me some fresh honey. I've never had honey that fresh before. It was neat and tastes great.  Smiley

I was target shooting out of the end of my dad's old chicken coup one rainy day and noticed a mess of wasps around a big nest in the rafters. (8 foot ceiling) They never bothered me cause of the gunsmoke I guess. If you had a old BSA smoker or 2 stroke you could have just fired er' up. Bees mellow down with smoke, NORMALY. But if the keeper was messing with them.......

Did the beekeeper ask you if "You want some, Honey?"  Wink
I've been keeping bees for almost 25 years, just a hobby with 3-4 hives and still don't like getting stung. Gotta love the fresh honey, soo much better than store bought. Smiley
