What would that accomplish?

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Give it a different look, anyway, does it matter?

Us Cafe guys do it with a single rod....it would be really hard to do it with the forward mounts.  There is a lot of stuff in the way, and you would need to have a lot of bends and/or bell cranks to get around all the obstacles.

No one has done it with forward mounts that I am aware of.

Dave,
Thank you very much for your response. I got the idea from the cafe kit from RYCA and thought it would look cool with rods instead of the cable. I was asking because it looks a bit complicated and I thought perhaps somebody had already done it; if I ever figure out how to do it I will let you know Smiley

One of the problems with all the bends....is that when you apply the brake they bends flex and the rods try to straighten the rod out as you step on the pedal.  This has the same effect of having air in your hydraulic brake line.....it makes the pedal mushy.  I first tried building my brake rod with 1/4" stainless rod and it was too flexy.....I built the next one using 5/16" and it helped to stiffen up the pedal considerably.  And my brake rod only has 2 bends so that the rod can get around the muffler.
