So I was wondering some input on air filters.
There are dozens of options and lots of different opinions so scouring the forum for a bit I found some things that seem like most people agree on (Cone filter directly on carb causes issues for most for example).
I am trying to figure out what filter and intake setup I want to do so if one of you had a general consensus on some things to keep in mind as far as pro's and cons of different set ups that would be great.
I am considering changing for my new setup I will be doing with a 97mm Wiseco, 36mm VM Mikuni, S3 Cam, 1.5" Header so sufficient airflow is gonna be important. Also the custom ascetic is nice.
So far the options I am considering are:
1 - Keep it stock
2 - Cone Filter either straight back like this
(from 88Pagan)
3 - Cone filter that feeds into airbox
4 - 90 degree bend to the right or left and throw on a Halrey Style filter
Some questions I was wondering:
1 - Bigger filter = better airflow?
2 - Is area between the filter and the carb better than straight mounted?
3 - Is a static air area between the filter and outside air a good idea?
Any info is appreciated
