I've had, ummm, "friends" take the valve stem caps off my car. Funny to them.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Yeah, it's pretty weird. Lens and everything were fine. They took the time to unscrew it and put it back on... just didn't tighten the screws down. So it was a $3 fix but super annoying as I use the bike to commute so it ruined my morning.

I feel like being a woman and having mostly female friends who don't ride makes the friend playing a prank thing super unlikely.

I think some jerk's bulb went out and they took mine...

I won't say you're wrong, but that's a lot of work for a $3 bulb, and a thief usually won't take the time. (It raises the chance of them getting caught)
Unless it was a bike owner, they would have no way of knowing if your bulb would work in their vehicle, most folks don't know they interchange
I still suspect a personal thing, prank or maybe someone who thinks you slighted them in some way
It doesn't have to be a friend to be a prank, and you don't actually have to slight someone in order for them to think you did

Doesn't matter now, done is done, hopefully won't happen again

When you buy the 2 pack....tape the extra one to the outside of the lens.

Then they can just take the spare bulb and leave your bike alone! Wink

Grin Grin Grin
Like owning a convertible; never lock the doors, the theif will just cut the top open
Now your car has a ruined top in addition to whatever else they do to it (steal the radio, steal the whole car, etc)

That's not a good "prank" to do.... especially if you got rearended.  That's exactly why I park my bike right where I can see it. Might wanna get a dropcam?

I do...   but I'm innocent, I swear... Huh...

Maybe some good Samaritan noticed yer' bulb was burned out, and was in the process of buying you a knew one, and replacing it for you...
That would explain not smashing the lens and putting the screws back...

That would be nice...  I think I'll hold on to that delusion...  Huh...

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you.  What an awful prank!  In addition to the places mentioned above, you can usually get 2 pack of 1157's at the 99¢ store.

I'm glad they didn't do anything worse to your bike...Let's hope this is an isolated incident.

Um, I've got a whole yard full of vehicles that take 1157 bulbs... riding mowers, tractors, trucks, cars, 4 motorcycles, 7 trailers... One 59 cent bulb isn't worth the trip though (buy in bulk at the truck stop, unit cost drops a lot).
