Unless you get a very nice used one....new is the way to go on something like a clutch cable.  You will most likely get it faster, and it will be new and ready for a a lot of miles...and the list price is currently $ 22.94.  I can't see much reason to fool around trying to get a used one at that price.

Pictures or better yet video? with so many cell phones around certainly someone got it! AND we'd like to see it.

Someone on here might have a cable, ask in the marketplace. I picked up one that way. [/quote]

oh I know right? I can get it moving good enough to drop into first and I gave too much throttle the first few times.

The dealer page I listed was $ 22.94.....your local dealer should be at a similar price.  See if they have an online parts list and you can show it to the dealer if they are asking for more.  They will have to charge you tax...online will have to charge you shipping.

Bike Bandit is $ 21.56

Ron Ayers is $ 25.23
http://www.ronayersmotorcycles.com/fiche_select.asp?mfg=Suzuki&partnumber=582...

The part number I am using is for the drag bars....if you have the Buckhorn bars the cable is a bit longer and will be a different part number.

Dealer:  $ 25.38

Bike Bandit.  $ 22.08

Ron Ayers:  $ 23.99
http://www.ronayers.com/oemparts/partsearch/suzuki

Or you can go to eBay and get a new one for $ 26.11 plus $ 5.95 shipping (if you are certain of the part number you need for the handlebars you have).

Several months ago I noticed a lot of play in the clutch lever and upon pulling back the rubber cover I found 3 tiny strands of cable still attached. Used the clutch 6 times in a 28 mile commute and made it home.

Dealership had a cable the next day for $23 and I'm kicking myself for net getting two.  Wink

I shouldve figured it. After i got the bike it would clunk shifting through lower gears and shifting up into neutral opposed to 2nd. It done it bad the day it broke. No rust either but the whole thing broke at the same exact spot where the lever ends.
