I got nothing but sympathy. Sorry. Once you get going you can shift without the clutch, i do that all the time.

Most likely the shop will not have the clutch cable in stock.....and will have to order it.

I can't think of any good way to rig it....and riding without the clutch is nearly impossible in traffic.

I got nothing for you either but sympathy.  Get her rolling drop in gear and try to work the lights so you don't have to stop.

I have had a little luck before running a wire down the housing and tying it off to where it goes at both ends.  Sometimes it's strong enough, sometimes not. It usually doesn't last a real long time.

Im worried about shifting without the clutch. I can do it in a car without grinding and very good with rev matching but the not having a neutral inbetween each gears is making me feel like im going to mess it up lol. Is it safe to do if im conservative with it? Do i want higher rpms to shift with or lower and differences in down and up

On my little dirt bike shifting without a clutch was a breeze - but the few times I tried it on my Savage it was very clumsy.  I could just not do it smoothly and always got a big "clunk" between gears.  I have no idea how you could get the bike going safely and reliably.

If you have any kind of traffic on the way home....you would be a lot better calling a friend and getting a ride until you can get a cable.  If you do want to "risk it"....try a few laps around the parking lot before you head out into traffic.  If you can't do it safely in the parking lot - you won't be able to do it safely out in traffic.

Shifting without the clutch will not hurt the transmission. Get the bike moving via "The Fintstone's" method and then drop it into 1st...and you're off. Up-shift like normal, you wont even notice the difference. For down shifting, just do it under light load. If you need to make a stop, simply go from 2nd to N. If you change your mind you can always tap it down into 1st.

I've broken clutch cables 15-20 miles from my truck in the nastiest NE woods/rocks and never had a problem riding. Once you do it, you'll see how easy it is.

Thanks for the info guys. I made it home and was hilarious at stoplights. Motioned people past and for getting started i just done neutral and literally ran overtop of the bike giving throttle and dumping into first. I have learned even with my 350lbs self... To much throttle got me into a slight wheelie and was not a pleasant situation

I love the help on this forum! Sometimes it's technical, sometimes it's "Get the bike moving via "The Fintstone's" method..."   Grin

Hey, whatever gets it working, right?!?

Pictures or better yet video? with so many cell phones around certainly someone got it! AND we'd like to see it.

Someone on here might have a cable, ask in the marketplace. I picked up one that way.
