All's well that ends well. The battery is fine and it starts up right away. Lesson learned.

cheap lessons aren't remembered.
I fine you $20, send to SS.com

Moderators can levy fines! Shocked

I didn't know we had those kind of powers.  That could come in handy around the first of the month.........

I figured that would be better served for the end of the month. Remember with great power comes great responsibility. I think a great philosopher said that once.  Grin

Um, I have a battery from my ninja...that has 1.7 volts showing.... even the tender jr. won't charge it...

Thought I read somewhere that the BTJr needs to detect 3v for it to do anything.

So don't feel bad Smiley

Unfortunately - the new smart chargers and maintainers won't charge a battery that is dead (or nearly dead).  Whatever it is they use to determine the battery is fully charged....is the same signal that a nearly dead battery sends to them - so they turn off.

If you have a good battery that is just run down on power - you need to charge it with a good old fashioned "manual" charger.  One that does not have the fancy testers and just keeps charging until you unplug it.
