Trying to figure out what the heck I need to do.  The RYCA conversion was done by the PO.  crappy wiring...but it worked.

Now,  trying to rebuild and clean up what is there.  Yes. I downloaded ryca paper and watched vids...but a couple of items I' missed:

Question:   if using the horn circuit wires for the tach power...how does the horn work?

The PO soldered some wires to the horn tabs...they came off and we're marked.   Angry

still could use a 2006 wiring diagram.  I can only find 2003 and earlier!
can someone post or email a pict please?

The wires still go to the horn, you're just pulling juice from the power end to go to the tach. Here is a link to my horn and the wires. Third picture from the bottom on the left. http://myrycabuild.weebly.com/page-2.html
As far as a wiring diagram, the Clymer manual has one in the back 2005 and up. It has "some" Wink mistakes in it but is REALLY helpful overall.
If it gets really ugly, you might want to 1. Buy a used complete wiring loom off of Ebay or sorts. 2. Make your own. I'm working on mine and am still scratching my head over different things. Cheesy

I didn't use the horn circuit to power the tach, I used the light circuit from the instrument cluster.

I'm wary about using the horn, only because you get signal pulses when the horn is pressed.  I had that issue with a Scitsu tach on my benelli.  when I hit the horn, it would spike the tach reading.

Power is power.  No real draw.  I like the idea of pulling it from the lighting circuit.

I THINK the headlight goes out, when the starter is pushed???? if so, the gauges should dim and the tach NOT work?

Does the tach have an internal light?  LED? or no?  The speedo has the replaceable bulb.

Whats' under the rubber plug on the back of the tach?

I just really need to figure out what the guy was trying to do......

\but really, soldering directly onto the horn?   sheesh....
