Cylinder chrome tops planned. Maybe the exhaust shields. Looking for a Harley muffler. But that's not much. Need a passenger seat though. And I added a fork brace. Is there a 'weight loss' thread somewhere I haven't found? Thanks.

You save a pound or two with lighter tires,...don't use heavy-duty tubes... Lithium battery will save a few pounds... pluses and minuses to that... Beyond that,... is minutia... Try Jenny Craig.... ...

In my conversion to a Cafe bike that has lightweight fenders, aluminum rims and handlebars, Li-Ion battery, smaller/thinner tires, light footpegs, small single seat, light turn signals, no belt guard...the bike lost about 40 pounds.

To keep the bike looking like a cruiser and capable of riding double, you might be able to trim off 10 pounds if you take off some things or replace it with lighter pieces. Most likely it won't be noticeable on a ride.

I second the other ideas in this thread.

If you have the sissy bar setup, take it off and switch to the non-sissy rails.

Dyna muffler and a earthx battery can shave off some decent weight.

Removing stock air filter (convert to cone) and remove the battery box/toolbox(relocate new lithium to muffler bracket) will shave some weight, open up the middle of the bike and will move the battery weight lower.

Changing the shocks to some diy struts can also shave off some serious weight but will change the handling and ride.

I wish there was a place that I could ride up to and get my bike weighed.

Just use a bathroom scale. Put the front end on the scale and raise the back even with the front with 2x4's or something. Swap the scale and shims and weigh the back.

Works great! If you have 2 scales....even better!

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!
